This 5-day instructor-led course explores how to use SharePoint as your platform for Business Intelligence. Journey through the SharePoint Business Intelligence Center, Excel Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Service, Performance Point and PowerPivot to implement your BI Strategies and enable your decision makers to see data in new and dynamic ways! This course will take you down a path of building a BI environment from scratch to full interactive dashboards using the Microsoft BI Stack.

Module 1: Overview
A simple introduction module.
After completing this module, students will be able to:
o Understand your course, classroom, classmates, facility and instructor.
Module 2: Business Intelligence
In this module we review what Business Intelligence (BI) is and what the typical BI goals are. We also explore how Microsoft BI tools are enabling more advanced Business Intelligence features to filter down/up to the decision makers and Information Workers in general.

o Define Business Intelligence
o Understand what P=R-C means to BI
o Accept that empowering end users is a GOOD thing
o Understand your BI will only be as good as your data, tools and processes
Module 3: Business Intelligence Center
In this module we are going to explore the Business Intelligence Center site definition that comes with SharePoint 2010.

After completing this module, students will be able to:
o Navigate the Business Intelligence Center Site Definition
o Understand what a SharePoint Dashboard is
o Understand what a KPI is and what data they can analyze
o Understand what integration points are compatible with the Business Intelligence Center
Module 4: Data Mart and Data Warehouses
In this module we explore what data is and some of the many forms that it takes. We then explore and define the terms Data Warehouse and Data Mart. This module is important in that as we move through the remainder of the course, we will need to have data to manipulate and work with to build our BI components.

Module 5: Business Connectivity Services
In this module we are going to take a look at the new Business Connectivity Services.

o How to build new BCS applications
o How to Upgrade your older BDC applications
Module 6: Analysis Services
In this module we will explore the feature of SQL Server called Analysis Services (SSAS). When regular SQL queries can't handle your data, MDX queries in SSAS can!

o Understand how to navigate Analysis Services
o How to build a simple cube
o How to write simple MDX queries

Module 7: Filter Web Parts
In this module we will explore Filter Web Parts and the important role they play in building Business Intelligence portals.

o Understand how to integrate Filter Web Parts into other BI technologies
Module 8: Excel Services
In this module we will explore and work with the various features of SharePoint's Excel Services.

In this module we explore the new PowerPivot tools of SQL Server 2008 R2 and Excel 2010.

Module 12: Visio and Access Services
In this module we will explore Visio and Access Services and how to integrate it into your Report process.

Module 13: GeoSpatial Data with Charts and Maps

Locatie- en arrangementen
Twice regelt voor de dagopleidingen van maandag tot en met zaterdag een arrangement à € 50 per dag. Een dagarrangement bestaat uit zaalhuur, gebruik van ICT-middelen, onbeperkt koffie, thee, frisdrank, ijswater en een lunch. De kosten van de arrangementen worden direct aan u doorberekend.
Btw
Op alle opleidingen en trainingen is 19% btw van toepassing en voor het studiemateriaal 6%. Met uitzondering van volledige MBO niveau 2, 3 en 4 opleidingen en de volledige HBO Bacheloropleidingen. Voor organisaties die geen btw kunnen terugvorderen, bestaat de mogelijkheid het volledige aanbod op deze website btw vrij gefactureerd te krijgen. In dit geval wordt een btw correctie van 10% toegepast. Dit betekent een voordeel van 7,5% op de inclusief btw prijs. De hoogte van btw is onder voorbehoud van eventuele wetswijzigingen.
