'Connecting the dots' - Twice hubs HTCE in the spotlight

Glow Beta

Twice in the spotlight! This year, Eindhoven's light festival GLOW does not have various light artworks and large groups of people roaming the streets, but it does have a unique moment. Although there will be no GLOW like other years, GLOW shows itself (safely from home/via the livestream) as an ode to the region in the coming days. A bit of hope and connection with the largest work of light art ever. All Twice members at the HTCE can see the Twice hubs Beta and Mµ shining :-). ''Connecting The Dots'' starts Thursday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m., encompassing as a work of art the entire city: over 80km2 with more than 1,500 LED lights, 1,000 red light points and more than 20,000 red works of art in front of windows.

''Connecting The Dots'' encompasses as a work of art the entire city. This will take the form of 1 large art light work by two artists: Ivo Schoofs and Kari Kola. It will be visible from a great distance; buildings, people and vehicles will be enveloped in a warm blue light. On this background, red-lit dots will dance in the wind. Eindhoven will be enveloped as a whole on Nov. 12, 13 and 14 with a soothing cloak of light and connecting red dots.

On those days, the HTCE campus will be open longer so people can drive around campus in cars and view the light works. In addition to our Beta and Mu buildings, the entire strip will be lit and it is expected that Building 1, Shimano and Brunel will also be lit so that it can be easily seen from the highway.

Next Gen
A special accent to this work is provided by light artist Hugo Vrijdag. With the Ontdekfabriek and Cultuurstation, 20,000 personal Dots will be created by elementary school students of Eindhoven. Elementary school students are invited to make their own dot and stick it on their window at home at the start of GLOW. But also residents of Eindhoven and its surroundings are called upon to make their own light project and hang it on their window during these GLOW 2020 days. These personal artworks contribute to Connecting the Dots.
